Publix, CVS and Walgreens

Shopping this week was interesting. I read a lot of blogs about coupons but they are not all in the same zip code as me. So not all the deals I read about online are at my stores. They change from store to store. That's why I wait to post until after I shop. I want to tell you what I actually find!

Publix deals change on Thursdays and CVS/Walgreens deals change on Sundays. Don't forget the abbreviations I use...

B1G1 = Buy one get one free
SS = Smart Source coupon book
RP = Red Plumb coupon book
AY = All You magazine

Here is what I found at Publix:

Bertoli Pasta Sauce B1G1 at $3.03
-$.60/1 (2/14 RP) = Buy 2 at $1.22 each

Kraft Dressing B1G1 at $3.27
Buy 2 at $1.64 each

Duke's mayo B1G1 at $3.75
Buy 2 at $1.86 each

A1 Steakhouse Marinade B1G1 at $2.89
Buy 2 at $1.45 each

Ritz Crackers B1G1 at $3.07
-$1.00/1 (1/24 SS) = Buy 2 at $1.04 each

Kraft Shredded Cheese 3 for $5
-$2/2 = Buy 2 at $.67 each

Total Spent = $15.75 plus tax
Total Saved = $22.65

Not bad. Not bad at all!

Here are some great deals at Walgreens:

Purex 50 oz laundry detergent B1G1 free at $5.99
-B1G1 free coupon (2/21 RP)
Some stores will give you the full $5.99 off making it B2G2 free. My Walgreens entered the coupon value at $3.00. Disheartened but still thankful, I bought 2 at $1.50 each.

Motrin PM 20 count $5.99
Rings up on sale for $2.99 per store weekly ad
-$3/2 (11/22 SS)
-$1.50/1 (Walgreens March in store coupon book)
The Walgreens coupon will automatically take $1.50 off each
Buy 2 get 2 FREE

Reach Dental Floss $1.89
Coupon from store weekly ad = $.99
-$1/1 (1/3 RP) = FREE

Total Spent $3.00 plus tax
Total Saved $25.86

Oh yeah!

And finally, my adventure at CVS.

One thing to do is get yourself a CVS Extra Care card so you can earn money back towards your next purchase. They call them Extra Care Bucks. I abbreviate that ECB.

Schick Quattro for Women $9.99
On sale for $8.99
-$4/1 (2/28 SS)
Buy 1 at $4.99 get $3 ECB
Like paying 1.99 for a razor.

Softsoap Body Wash $4.99
-$1/1 March AY
Buy 1 at 3.99 get $4 ECB
You made a penny!

Total Spent = $8.98 plus tax
Total Saved = $6.00
ECB Earned = $7

You could have the cashier ring this up as 2 separate purchases.
  • Buy the Softsoap first. Get back $4 ECB.
  • Now buy the Schick razor. Use the $4 ECB towards the razor.
  • Get back $3 ECB.

I had ECB from my last CVS trip so I actually paid $.87 and left with $7 ECB for my next trip.

CVS ECB rock!

I also wanted to let you know about the coupon in the 2/7 SS for a FREE Schick Quattro Titanium. It is a mail in rebate.
